De-Silting Work Schedule

 

Parts of the lake will be closed for De-silting work from

January until March. This work has to be done in the

winter so cannot take place during the close season.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

 

Lake closed at dusk on the Saturday, open at dawn on the Friday


Dec 27/28th - Survey of the lake bed - Whole lake open but

you may have to reel in for a few minutes.

Sat 3rd Jan – closed until Fri 16th Jan - Canal section.
Sat 24th Jan – closed until Fri 6th Feb - Narrows & Dead Length.
Sat 14th Feb - closed until Fri 27 Feb - Monastery bay, Pads and Maze.
Sat 7th March – closed until Fri 20th March - First Bay & Second Bay.

 

 

 

 

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

The price for an associate membership ticket for the 2009 season is;

£115 for ALL associate members.

Junior membership is as follows:

13 - 15 yrs old £10
16 - 17 yrs old £20

Please tell other associate members you may know of the changes.


 There are no concessions for associate members.
There have been past instances of associate members being given a reduced rate, this was not sanctioned at an AGM and will no longer happen.


Members are reminded that club fees are due on the 1st January and failure to pay by 28th February will result in your place being offered to someone else.

I will be quite happy to respond to any emails I receive, but I will try an answer the main questions I get asked here. The first thing is, (unless you live within 3 mile of Wem town hall) you need to know two existing members of the club that have held a club card for a least five full seasons, these two members will act as guarantees. Other than obvious reasons for security, the reason the club asks for sponsors is to reduce the amount of applications. Very few Wem Angling club cards become available each season because it is such good value for money that anglers tend to hold on to their cards.


The Application forms are now down loadable from this site please see below for which type you require (The application forms are in .PDF format so you will have to Acrobat reader to view and print these files).

There are two types of Application form :-

1. Is for local anglers who live within 10 miles of Wem town Hall.

2. Is for associate anglers who live outside the 10 mile radius of Wem Town Hall

Once you have printed off the application form fill it in with the relevant Information and send it to the address shown at the bottom of the form (note new addresses), also enclose a stamped addressed envelope. It would be advisable to take copies of everything as it may be unlikely you will get into the club at the first time of asking.

Keep applying at the start of every year don't just presume you have been put on the waiting list.
For ex-members who wish to re-join the club you still have to fill out an application form, so follow the instructions shown above.
